I love many kinds of music and had went through various change in musical preference. From indie to mainstream. From classical music to jazz. Music is very important for me.

A little bit different from other girls, rather than spend my money to buy clothes, shoes, or cosmetics, I usually choose to buy books instead.

Pharmacists are healthcare professionals who practice in pharmacy, the field of health sciences focusing on safe and effective medication use. For me the science of pharmacy is fascinating and interesting.

I'm a movie enthusiast. Particularly for Fantasy, Adventure, Animation and Science-Fiction Movie. It's a nice way to escape the reality for a while.

Museum Batik Danar Hadi (House of Danar Hadi)

Batik is one of the most famous traditional cloth from Indonesia. On 2 October 2009, UNESCO decided that Indonesian Batik is one of the world heritage in the category of "Masterpiece in Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity". Honestly, I didn't really fond of Batik before >////<. I wear Batik to my office, more to comply with government provision to preserve the continuity of Batik. But now, it change. I became really appreciate and respect Batik art after I went to House of Danar Hadi.

House of Danar Hadi had received MURI record as museum that has the most complete antique batik collection in the world. On 22 November 2012, I got a chance to visit it and saw batik making process. This visit really change my point of view. I realize for the first time that my Rp. 35.000 clothes with batik motif is not what you could call "Batik". It simply just an ordinary fabric with batik motif print on it, machine made : (. The real Batik cloth is man-made, with wax-resist dyeing technique. Now I realize why people said that Batik is a masterpiece. The moment I enter the museum, the scene of antique Batik that was exhibited there was taking my breath away. It's really really pretty!!! Just from see every piece of Batik there, you could feel the hard effort of people who made it! Whoever made those Batik must be put their heart and soul to made this magnificent art, make it really personal. I couldn't express what I mean well. But it's really different with those cheap imported Batik-motif fabric from China or other countries. It's no wonder if the Batik Tulis clothes is really expensive.

We prohibited to take pictures inside the museum, but we could take pictures in the Batik Workshop. Here are the pictures:

Waiting to add a third color

If you're interested to know the Batik making process, you could see it here. You could see the Batik collection in the Museum Batik Danar Hadi blog. I hope you would appreciate this magnificent art more, just like me!!

Seven Psychopaths

This film win People Choice Award on Toronto International Film Festival, so I had high expectation when I watched it. It proved to be a good movie. A little surprises here and there. Feel absurd sometimes, but hey, this is a movie about psychopaths. What do you expect? ^0^.

Marty is an alcoholic screenwriter that was struggling to finish his screenplay, "Seven Psychopaths". He is helped by Billy, his best friend, an actor and a part-time dog thief, and Hans, Billy's partner in crime. Things go awry when Billy kidnap Bonny, a Shih Tzu dog owned by Charlie, a gangster and a psychopaths. Could Marty finish his screenplay amidst this absurd situation? This is the trailer:

I won't say anything further about this film cause it's gonna spoil the surprises. It contains some strong violence, bloody images, pervasive language and sexuality/nudity (as I've already said, this is a film about psychopaths, what do you expect?). Ho ho ho. Please watch out guys! Who knows there's a psychopath near you! By the way, I think you could only see this movie in Blitzmegaplex, not in 21 or XXI. Please tell me about your impression after you watch this movie there!

Wreck-It Ralph (Movie Review)

"I'm bad, and that's good. I will never be good, and that's not bad. There's no one I'd rather be than me"

I didn't have any expectation when I went to movie theater to watch Wreck-it Ralph, an animated film from Disney. I just want to kill the time and escape from reality for a while since I've been busy lately. So I was surprised to found that this movie is really good! I mean, all those hype with Madagascar 3 and the film turned out to be under my expectation while I never heard a thing about Wreck-it Ralph before and it turned out to be worth to watch!!

Ralph with Vanellope von Schweetz
This movie is about the world of video game in Litwax's Arcade where characters in it is simply play their role so people can play the games. After the game is over, they come back to their life and can travel across to meet their friends from other games. Ralph, a villain in a video game "Fix it, Felix Jr." is getting tired of his role as a villain. As he said,"It's hard to love your job, when no one else seems to like you for doing it". He longs to be as beloved as his games perfect Good Guy, Fix-It Felix. He also yearns for respect and recognition from his fellow friends. That's why he determined to win a medal to prove he also can be a hero and feel happy. The problem is, when he sneaks to a first-person shooter game called Hero's Duty to get a gold medal, he accidentally unleashes a deadly enemy that threatens every game in the arcade. Could Ralph get the recognition that he yearns before all is too late for the entire arcade? Just watch this movie and find out about it! This is the trailer!

Trailer 1

Trailer 2

The 3D animation is good. The music is good. It features some songs from Owl City, Rihanna, Skrillex and AKB48. The setting of every games are interesting, especially in Sugar Rush and Hero's duty. Character that I like the most in this movie is Sergeant Calhoun, the main character in Hero's Duty. A tough and incredible woman as you could feel from what she said before the war with Cy-bugs. ""Fear" is a four-letter word, ladies! If you wanna go pee-pee in your big-boy slacks, keep it to yourself!" wkwkwk. I cry a lot when I watch this movie. Maybe because I can relate it to my life. Don't ever think that you don't have a significant present, no matter what role you play in this world. I think that's what this movie try to say. My brother who love video games must be really like this movie if he could watch it. Even if you're an adult, this movie will still appeal to you. So what do you wait for? Watch this movie in your nearest movie theater and tell me your impression about it! By the way, this movie receive score 83 in IMDb, a pretty high score nee. Do you think  this score fit this movie??

Akun You Tube Pemda DKI

He he he.

Wakil Gubernur Jakarta mengunjungi sekolah unggulan  MH Thamrin

Wakil Gubernur Jakarta mendengarkan paparan dinas PU

Gubernur Jakarta Mengunjungi Manggarai

He he he. Wah wah wah. Bagaimana menurut kalian?

I've been a fan of Mew, a Danish Band that was awarded as Band of the Year on Danish Music Award in 2003, since they release "And The Glass Handed Kites" on 2006. I remember the first song that I listened from them is Zookeeper Boys. At the first time, it sounds really weird to me. I never heard a song like that before! In contrast with most male vocalist's voice that I know which always deep and heavy, Jonas Bjerre's voice is like someone who never reach puberty. He has unusually high voice that makes Mew's songs really recognizable. It seems very unlikely but what it seems like a very weird song turned out had take my heart. And then my journey as someone who really loves unique and weird song began! Ha ha ha. ^0*.

We could say that their music fall into Dreamy Pop or Shoegaze category. Since they've been around for more than 17 years, they have so many good songs. Some of my favorites:

Am I Wry?
Peterpan, a band from my country, was accused of plagiarism because of of their song,
"ada apa denganmu" was thought to be similar with this song. In my opinion, it's not plagiarism. It's just that the intro of those 2 songs give similar feel.

 She Spiders

Snow Brigade

Wheels Over Me

No Shadow Kick

Comforting Sound

I ended up recommend a lot of songs >///<. When I was a university student, Mew came to do live concert in Indonesia. Sadly, at that time I didn't have my own money and I don't want to give trouble to my parents concerning money so I couldn't go to watch them T^T. If you have time, please check their music!

Skyfall (Movie Review)

There's so much contradiction in people's opinion about the 23rd James Bond movie, Skyfall. Some said it's the best Bond movie ever. Other said that it's the worse. All of those opinions on internet made me hard to decide whether I would like to spend my time to watch this movie or not. Critics love it while fans of James Bond usually not. But I honestly think that every people had different taste. Just like when I love "Hugo" while my ex-boyfriend said there's nothing special about that film. Or when some people really love Twilight Saga movies while I'm not. So I made up my mind and went to Blitzmegaplex to watch it.

The movie poster
Personally, I love this movie and I think it's great. The last movie that quite give impression on me was The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises, and Skyfall falls into the same level (in my opinion). It's great but those movies didn't give me anything to contemplate about, not like when I watched Forrest Gump or Inception. But that doesn't matter if you're looking for entertainment. This movie managed to made me forget reality for a while. He he he.

The actions in this movie is good. There's a balance between humors and tensions. The acting is good too. I personally love Ben Whishaw whom played as Q. Adele sing the main soundtrack of this movie and overall the music is great. What I like most is the cinematography of this movie that truly amazing!!! Beautiful! I give A+ for the cinematography.  Some James Bond fans whining about the lack of sexual scenes and Bond girls in this movie. Well, I really don't mind! I hate when producer put too many sexual scenes in a movie to attract viewer!

Even though this movie is great, there are few things that made me wonder such as:
  1. What's happened with the list of agents that was stolen? Is Silva stole it and leaked the information on the internet only as a revenged to M or there's someone else that order him? It's a little bit hazy.
  2. Why James Bond didn't request reinforcement and prefer to take Silva by himself when he travel to Scotland with M to lure Silva into his trap?
  3. Is James Bond a really cold person? I'm not really familiar with James Bond so I don't really know about his personality. I mean, in this movie, he's not a typical hero that wouldn't let innocent people get killed. He's not showing any emotion nor prevent his enemy killed innocent people in front of his eyes. But maybe, as an agent, his mission is the first priority that he couldn't take any action that could ruin his mission.
Although some people said that this movie is too long, I still recommend you to watch it!

JRock Evolution 2013

It was announced just now in JRock Evolution official website  that JRock Evolution 2013 will be held on Spring 2013 in these places:
  • Tokyo / Japan
  • Osaka / Japan
  • Bangkok / Thailand
  • Kuala Lumpur / Malaysia
  • Jakarta / Indonesia
  • Taipei / Taiwan
I'm so happy \(^o^)/. So, who will be come next year? Since this event is created by Oishi Masahiro-san as the director of Maverick DC, I'm sure there's gonna be a lot of artist from Maverick DC. Artists from this year JRock Evolution is basically 3 from Maverick DC group (MUCC, Girugamesh, UNiTE) and 3 from PS Company (Alice Nine, SuG <although now they're not in PS Company anymore> and D-Out). I hope Maverick DC would be represent by L'Arc~en~Ciel, SID, MUCC, or Girugamesh. On the other hand, I really hope that PS Company would be represent by The Gazette, Alice Nine and Vivid. He he he. What about you? But I hope they would extend their list of artists so that it could include bands like Luna Sea, Sadie, Vistlip, Plastic Tree, Nightmare...woo hoo.. I think I'm being too greedy here. >///<.

They said it would be in Spring, so maybe around late March to late June next year. I'm looking forward to it!! What about you? Which artists that you hope to come?
